Ark and Mark Campsite Partnership

Supporting healing, training, and empowerment through a unique partnership in Botswana's wilderness.

Therapy Center

Ark and Mark Campsite Partnership

Norway for Botswana has received a request to support the construction of the Ark and Mark Foundation's multifaceted wilderness center for vulnerable groups. The center currently has canvas tents, borehole water, and a small hall to host its vulnerable groups and professionals for training.

Trusted Collaboration with Botswana Government

The Ark and Mark Trust works in partnership with the Botswana Government Department of Social Protection, and 16 District Councils (municipalities). The trust trains social workers, teachers, other health personnel, and members of the local community in therapeutic interventions for vulnerable groups. By training these professionals, the interventions are scaled nationally.

A Wilderness-Based Healing Center

The Trust operates a 10-hectare wilderness-based campsite for training and therapeutic services. It offers direct counselling, therapy, and empowerment to women, girls, and young people facing trauma, abuse, addiction, and educational challenges. The trust has trained over 500 social workers, 1000 community volunteers, and impacted more than 20,000 children, 2,000 youth, and 150,000 families.

Norway for Botswana Partnership

Through this partnership, Norway for Botswana will help host Norwegian teams to deliver professional training, share practical skills, and facilitate cultural exchange at the campsite. Visitors will also enjoy Botswana's rich natural beauty.
